BitMine Buys 17,362 ETH, Total Holdings Top 6 Million ETH
BitMine said it acquired 17,362 ETH over the past week, lifting its total Ethereum holdings above 6 million ETH as of September 27. The company reported total holdings of 6,001,302 ETH, equivalent to about 4.9% of Ethereum’s 122.1 million ETH supply.
According to information shared by Wu Blockchain, the latest purchase places BitMine 98% of the way toward its stated objective of owning 5% of all ETH. The company’s holdings have therefore moved close to the threshold outlined in its Ethereum accumulation strategy.
BitMine’s Ethereum Position
BitMine has also staked 5,067,309 ETH, representing roughly 84% of its total holdings. Staking involves committing cryptocurrency to support the operation of a proof-of-stake blockchain, with the assets remaining part of the company’s reported Ethereum position.
The scale of the staked holdings means that the majority of BitMine’s reported ETH is currently allocated to staking rather than remaining unstaked. The company’s latest disclosure does not indicate any change to its stated 5% ownership objective.
BitMine’s total exposure extends beyond Ethereum. The company said its combined holdings of cryptocurrency, cash, marketable securities and other investments were valued at $17.2 billion.
Holdings Near Stated 5% Target
At 6,001,302 ETH, BitMine’s reported position represents approximately 4.9% of the 122.1 million ETH supply cited in the disclosure. Reaching 5% would require the company to hold roughly 6.105 million ETH based on that supply figure.
The latest weekly purchase of 17,362 ETH brings BitMine closer to that stated target while increasing its overall concentration in Ethereum. The company’s disclosure provides the latest holdings figure as of September 27, along with the amount currently staked and the broader value of its investment portfolio.
BitMine’s reported 6,001,302 ETH holdings and $17.2 billion in total crypto, cash, marketable securities and other investments mark the latest figures in its ongoing accumulation strategy.
