BitMine Buys 27,562 ETH, Bringing Total Ethereum Holdings to 5.98 Million

BitMine bought 27,562 ETH last week, lifting its total Ethereum holdings to 5.98 million as the company nears its 5% supply target.
BitMine Ethereum holdings reach 5.98 million ETH after purchasing 27,562 ETH.

BitMine Immersion Technologies bought 27,562 Ether (ETH) last week, bringing its total Ethereum holdings to 5.98 million ETH, according to data shared by Cointelegraph.

The latest purchase adds to BitMine’s large Ethereum treasury as the company continues its strategy of accumulating ETH. The figure places its holdings at 5,983,940 ETH, according to a September 21 update cited by industry reports.

BitMine Expands Ethereum Treasury

BitMine has continued adding ETH through weekly purchases since launching its Ethereum treasury strategy on June 30, 2025. The latest acquisition follows purchases reported in previous weeks, including 27,180 ETH added during the week ending September 14 and 28,086 ETH acquired the week before that.

The company’s latest holdings represent about 4.9% of Ethereum’s circulating supply, based on a circulating supply of approximately 122.1 million ETH. BitMine is therefore close to its stated objective of accumulating 5% of Ethereum’s supply.

The size of the treasury also makes BitMine one of the largest corporate holders of Ether. Its latest disclosure put its total crypto, cash, marketable securities and other strategic investments at $17.1 billion.

More Than 5 Million ETH Is Staked

A substantial portion of BitMine’s Ethereum holdings is also being used for staking. The company reported 5,067,309 ETH staked, equivalent to roughly 85% of its 5.98 million ETH position.

BitMine said its staking operations generated a seven-day yield of 2.62% on an annualized basis. The company currently projects annualized staking revenue of $357 million, while estimating that staking its full Ethereum holdings could produce about $421 million annually. These figures are company projections rather than realized revenue.

The latest purchase also comes as BitMine approaches the 5% accumulation target it has pursued since beginning its Ethereum treasury strategy. According to the latest reported figures, the company is 98% of the way toward that objective.

BitMine’s Accumulation Strategy Continues

The 27,562 ETH acquisition keeps BitMine’s weekly accumulation strategy in focus as its holdings approach the stated 5% threshold. The company has not indicated in the cited update what its strategy will be after reaching that level.

For now, the latest reported position stands at 5,983,940 ETH, with more than 5 million ETH already staked.
