Bitcoin Falls Below $83,000 as Ethereum, XRP and Solana Extend Crypto Market Losses
Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $83,000 as major cryptocurrencies recorded further losses, with Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Zcash (ZEC) among the notable decliners. CoinGecko data showed Bitcoin down 0.6% over 24 hours to $82,446.99, while Ethereum (ETH), XRP and several other leading digital assets posted steeper declines.
Bitcoin's daily trading volume reached $40.73 billion, while its market capitalization remained at $1.65 trillion. Ethereum fell 3.0% to $2,494.28, with trading volume of $18.40 billion. XRP declined 1.8% to $1.40, leaving its market capitalization at approximately $88.25 billion.
Solana, Dogecoin and Zcash Lead Major Crypto Declines
Solana dropped 5.0% to $110.54, with daily trading volume reaching $5.03 billion. The decline placed SOL among the hardest-hit major cryptocurrencies in the reported session.
BNB fell 3.8% to $742.90, with a market capitalization of approximately $98.92 billion. Dogecoin declined 4.2% to $0.08539, recording $1.10 billion in trading volume.
Zcash (ZEC) registered a 6.0% decline to $1,221.36, while its trading activity reached $1.56 billion. Hyperliquid (HYPE) lost 2.9% to $85.62, with a market capitalization of approximately $19.04 billion.
TRON (TRX) also traded lower, falling 1.2% to $0.3321. Its daily trading volume stood at $371.84 million, adding to the broad weakness among major digital assets.
Hood Sword Inu and Origin Token Rally Against Market Trend
While large cryptocurrencies mostly declined, several smaller tokens recorded substantial gains. Hood Sword Inu (HOODINU) led the reported gainers, surging 346.9% to $0.04917 on trading volume of $10.30 million.
Origin Token (OGN) climbed 96.9% to $0.04463, generating approximately $285.78 million in trading volume. Janction (JCT) rose 46.7% to $0.002316, while ELYSIA (EL) gained 46.6% to $0.002369.
Starknet (STRK) advanced 40.4% to $0.06896, with trading volume reaching $394.14 million. iExec RLC (RLC) increased 28.7% to $0.8763, and Talus (US) gained 27.9% to $0.01949.
The contrasting price movements showed that some smaller tokens posted sharp gains even as major cryptocurrencies remained under pressure. Bitcoin's decline below $83,000 coincided with losses across Ethereum, XRP, Solana and other established digital assets, while the reported figures did not identify a specific cause for the market downturn.
