The pope said he had seen reports that Nvidia had announced a way to introduce guardrails into certain AI models. He nevertheless questioned Huang’s position on regulation, noting that the Nvidia chief has also argued against government limits on AI development.
Huang previously said he agreed with Trump that concerns about AI safety had been overstated, according to Reuters reporting cited by several outlets.

Vatican Seeks Broader Discussion on AI
The Vatican has increasingly positioned AI governance and its effects on humanity as issues requiring international discussion. Reuters previously reported that Vatican officials had been raising concerns about AI-related risks before recent calls from technology executives for greater attention to AI safety.
Leo said the Vatican has received interest from people seeking to participate in a broader discussion since his May encyclical.
