SpaceXAI Unveils Grok 4.7 as Latest Flagship AI Model
SpaceXAI has unveiled Grok 4.7, the latest version of its flagship artificial intelligence model, adding a new generation to the company’s Grok model lineup.

Grok 4.7 Targets Coding and Knowledge Work
SpaceXAI describes Grok 4.7 as its most capable model for coding and knowledge work. The company said the model uses a new, larger base model compared with Grok 4.6 and underwent a longer reinforcement-learning process focused more heavily on difficult tasks that can require extended periods to complete.
The company also said Grok 4.7 has been trained to verify its own work more carefully and manage longer contexts. SpaceXAI said the model has also been trained to natively understand the Grok Bot harness, which is intended to improve its performance in conversational tasks and broader knowledge-work applications.
Grok 4.7 is available through the SpaceXAI API under the model identifier grok-4.7. The model supports text and image inputs, produces text output and has a 500,000-token context window. Its reasoning settings include low, medium, high and xhigh levels, with high set as the default.
API Availability and Pricing
The release also puts Grok 4.7 directly into SpaceXAI’s developer platform. The company’s documentation lists pricing of $2.00 per 1 million input tokens and $6.00 per 1 million output tokens, while cached input tokens are priced at $0.50 per 1 million tokens. Higher pricing applies when prompts exceed the standard 200,000-token threshold.
SpaceXAI’s release notes dated September 21 state that Grok 4.7 is available through the API for coding, agentic tasks and knowledge work. The company also offers a faster Grok 4.7 variant, although its documentation says Grok 4.7 Fast is currently limited to Cursor and Grok Build rather than the public API.
The model is also accessible through several external development platforms. SpaceXAI lists Cursor, Grok Build, OpenRouter, Vercel and Cloudflare among the environments where Grok 4.7 is served.
New Model Extends the Grok Lineup
The launch gives developers and businesses another Grok model focused on longer-running reasoning, coding and knowledge-work tasks. SpaceXAI said Grok 4.7 is served at the same price and speed as Grok 4.6 while offering improvements in its underlying model and training approach.
For developers using the API, the immediate next step is access to the new grok-4.7 model, while the faster variant remains available through the specific platforms identified by SpaceXAI.
