XRP Price Falls to $1.31 as Exchange Inflows Reach Seven-Month High of 6.05 Billion Tokens

XRP drops to $1.31 as 30-day exchange inflows hit 6.05 billion tokens, while traders watch ETF demand and key support levels.

XRP price chart and exchange inflow data showing 6.05 billion tokens deposited across cryptocurrency exchanges over 30 days.

XRP fell 4.40% over 24 hours to $1.31 as cryptocurrency exchanges recorded 6.05 billion XRP in inflows over the past 30 days, the highest level in seven months, according to CryptoQuant analyst Arab Chain. Binance received the largest share, with approximately 2.46 billion XRP moving onto the exchange.

The increase in exchange deposits comes as XRP continues to lose ground from its September price levels. However, CryptoQuant cautions that rising inflows do not automatically indicate that investors intend to sell. Transfers can also reflect active trading, custody changes, or movements between wallets, making price action, trading volume, and exchange outflows important factors in assessing the data.

As of 23:37 UTC on October 22, XRP had a market capitalization of $82.38 billion, ranking fifth among crypto assets, according to CoinGecko. Its price ranged from $1.30 to $1.37 over 24 hours, with trading volume of approximately $1.57 billion.

XRP Exchange Inflows Reach 6.05 Billion Tokens

In an analysis published through CryptoQuant's QuickTake platform, Arab Chain reported that exchange inflows reached approximately 6.05 billion XRP over 30 days, marking the highest reading in seven months.

Binance accounted for approximately 2.46 billion XRP, or about 40.7% of the total. Other exchanges also received substantial amounts: Bybit recorded 580.31 million XRP, OKX received 557.13 million, Upbit took in 544.48 million, and Bitget recorded 284.52 million. KuCoin received 55.24 million XRP, while Gate recorded 29.47 million.

At an XRP price of $1.31, the combined 6.05 billion tokens represented a value of just under $7.93 billion. The deposits moved a significant amount of XRP toward centralized trading venues where the tokens could potentially be sold.

The inflow increase coincided with a sustained decline in XRP's market price. The token has fallen approximately 16% from around $1.57 on September 23 and remains about 64% below its July 2025 all-time high of $3.65.

Why Rising Exchange Deposits Are Not Automatically Bearish

CryptoQuant warned against treating the inflow figure as a standalone sell signal. Arab Chain wrote that increased XRP deposits do not necessarily mean investors are preparing to sell, emphasizing that the indicator should be evaluated alongside price movements, trading volume, and exchange outflows.

The distinction matters because exchange transfers can serve several purposes beyond preparing to sell. Investors may move assets between wallets, adjust custody arrangements, or transfer tokens to exchanges for active trading. The inflow data alone does not establish which activity accounts for the increase.

The 6.05 billion XRP represents approximately 9.6% of the token's circulating supply of 63.1 billion. Although the volume is substantial, the figure does not independently demonstrate that all those tokens are available for immediate sale or that holders have decided to liquidate their positions.

XRP ETF Flows and Key Price Levels

Demand from U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) provides another part of the market picture. The funds recorded 13 consecutive weeks of inflows before that streak ended in mid-October. The interruption came as XRP's price and recent ETF flow trends weakened, increasing attention on the $1.30 price area.

On October 22, $1.30 marked XRP's intraday low and the lower end of its reported 24-hour range. If the price falls below that level, the October 18–19 lows near $1.29 represent another area to watch. On the upside, $1.37, the October 22 high, is the first resistance level identified in the source analysis, followed by the $1.40 threshold, where XRP had repeatedly struggled over the preceding week.

These levels reflect observed trading ranges rather than guaranteed outcomes. A daily close above $1.37 would provide an initial indication that the market had absorbed the recent inflows, while a close below $1.29 would suggest that selling pressure or other supply-related activity could remain unresolved. Neither outcome can be determined from exchange inflows alone.

XRP Ledger Upgrade and SEC Dispute Remain in Focus

Developments beyond trading activity could also influence the longer-term outlook for XRP. The XRP Ledger's fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment failed to secure the validator support required to activate on schedule, delaying the network cleanup change until later in November.

The amendment's delay highlights that the ledger's upgrade schedule operates separately from short-term XRP price movements. Meanwhile, XRP remains central to Ripple's longstanding regulatory dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, an issue that continues to factor into institutional assessments of the asset.

For longer-term XRP market expectations, ETF flows, the utility of the XRP Ledger, and developments in the SEC dispute remain separate considerations from the volume of tokens transferred to exchanges in a single month. The latest inflow figure offers a snapshot of exchange activity, but it does not by itself establish the direction of XRP's next move.
