Uniswap UNI Price Drops 30% as Binance Inflows Hit Yearly High
Uniswap's UNI token is facing selling pressure after a strong rally, with inflows to Binance reaching their highest levels of the year, according to crypto analyst Darkfost. The analyst described the current market phase as a period of distribution, as increased token transfers to exchanges coincided with a decline from the asset's recent peak.
UNI has climbed approximately 370% from its June lows, but the rally has since lost momentum. The token has fallen more than 30% from its recent high of $10.90, highlighting a shift in price performance as exchange inflows increased.
UNI Exchange Inflows Reach Elevated Levels
Darkfost's assessment, published on the day of the report, identified Binance as a key destination for the increased UNI flows. At the end of September, daily inflows exceeded $40 million on some days, illustrating the scale of tokens moving onto the exchange.
The analyst also pointed to UNI's Z-score, a measure of how far inflows deviate from their typical levels. The indicator rose above 4 on multiple occasions, signaling unusually elevated inflow activity compared with its baseline.
Large exchange inflows can indicate that more tokens are becoming available for potential trading, including selling. However, inflows alone do not establish that every transferred token will be sold, and the data cited in the assessment does not confirm the intentions of individual holders.
Uniswap Activity Remains Significant Despite the Correction
The price decline follows a period of substantial growth in Uniswap-related activity. The value of assets locked in the protocol exceeded $4 billion in September, while trading volume on the decentralized exchange reached $93.6 billion.
Those figures provide context for UNI's earlier rally, although protocol activity and token price performance are separate measures. The reported increase in exchange inflows has emerged alongside the token's retreat from its recent high.
Darkfost Sees Signs of Slowing Inflows
Despite the elevated levels, Darkfost said UNI inflows to exchanges were beginning to slow. The analyst suggested that if the decline in inflow activity continues, the token's price correction could be nearing its end.
That outlook remains conditional. The assessment does not establish that the correction has finished, and the direction of UNI's price will depend on how market conditions and trading activity develop.
