ZachXBT Says Bitget Hack Funds Are Being Laundered Through Cross-Chain Bridges
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT said funds stolen in the $387.5 million Bitget hack are being moved across blockchain networks and into mixing services including Wasabi, as suspected laundering activity continues following the exploit.
According to information shared by Wu Blockchain, ZachXBT said Chinese illicit actors allegedly laundering funds on behalf of suspected North Korean attackers have been openly seeking order support through Discord and Telegram channels associated with services they use. The activity involves funds linked to the Bitget hack, which ZachXBT described as being laundered through cross-chain bridges and mixing services.
Funds Moved Across Chains
ZachXBT said the stolen assets are currently being moved between different blockchain networks before being deposited into mixing services including Wasabi. Such movement can involve transferring assets across chains and services in an effort to complicate the tracing of transaction flows.
The investigator said the actors involved have been seeking order support through communication channels on Discord and Telegram. These channels are reportedly tied to services used by the individuals involved in the laundering activity.
The allegations concern funds from Bitget’s $387.5 million hack. The movement of the assets remains an ongoing process, according to ZachXBT’s account shared through Wu Blockchain.
Links to Earlier Kelp DAO Exploit
ZachXBT also identified an operator known as “Alias 4,” saying the individual was involved in laundering funds connected to the $292 million Kelp DAO exploit earlier this year.
He said similar patterns have been observed following other attacks attributed to TraderTraitor. The reference connects the current movement of Bitget-related funds with transaction patterns ZachXBT says have appeared in previous incidents involving suspected North Korean-linked attackers.
The attribution remains a claim by the blockchain investigator rather than an independently established finding in the information provided. The reported activity concerns the movement and laundering of stolen cryptocurrency, while the identities and affiliations of the actors remain described in the source as allegations or suspicions.
Additional Data Expected
ZachXBT said he plans to publish additional data in the coming weeks. That future disclosure could provide further information about the transactions, entities and services associated with the movement of the Bitget hack proceeds.
For now, the investigator’s account identifies cross-chain transfers, Discord and Telegram activity, and deposits into mixing services including Wasabi as parts of the markets reported laundering process. The investigation remains ongoing, with further data expected from ZachXBT in the coming weeks.
