RLUSD Overtakes XRP in AI Agent Settlements Tracked by XRPL AI Hub
RLUSD has recorded more settlement activity than XRP in the AI agent payments tracked by XRPL AI Hub, with 7,306.63 RLUSD compared with 6,207.40 XRP, according to the dashboard.
The figures indicate that the stablecoin has become a prominent payment asset within the hub’s tracked AI activity. However, the two totals are denominated in different units and therefore cannot be used to determine which asset represents the greater dollar value.
XRPL AI Hub says its payment infrastructure has processed nearly eight million transactions, with an average of more than 250,000 transactions per day over the past seven days. Its live activity feed includes small RLUSD payments made to AI inference services, allowing agents to pay for individual requests.
The figures cover activity monitored by the hub rather than all AI-related transactions occurring across the XRP Ledger. The dashboard also does not explain why an individual agent selects RLUSD or XRP for a particular payment.
RLUSD Gives AI Agents Predictable Dollar-Based Pricing
The difference between the two assets is particularly relevant for services priced on a per-request basis. An AI agent making repeated API calls must account for each payment against its available budget.
RLUSD is designed to maintain a one-to-one value with the U.S. dollar and, according to Ripple, is backed by cash and cash equivalents. Its dollar denomination can make the cost of individual services easier to calculate than XRP-denominated payments, whose market value can fluctuate.
RLUSD operates on the XRP Ledger alongside XRP, allowing services to use a stablecoin for dollar-based pricing while remaining within the ledger’s payment infrastructure.
XRPL AI Hub’s service directory illustrates this use case. Some listed services quote individual requests in RLUSD, including tools for credit checks and screening. Other services accept XRP, leaving the network’s native asset available as another payment option for automated transactions.
The growing presence of RLUSD in the tracked activity does not, by itself, establish a broader shift away from XRP across the XRP Ledger. The hub’s data represents only the payments it tracks, and transaction counts or token-unit totals cannot directly measure the economic value settled by each asset.
For a meaningful comparison between RLUSD and XRP, the respective settlement amounts would need to be evaluated over the same period and converted into a common currency.
The current XRPL AI Hub figures therefore show RLUSD playing a significant role in the automated payments recorded by the platform, while XRP remains part of the available payment infrastructure. The data provides a view into AI agent activity on the hub but does not establish broader settlement trends across the XRP Ledger.
