Pi Network KYC Update: 417K Pioneers Unblocked as 497K Wallets Await

Pi Network clears KYC restrictions for 417K Pioneers and targets a migration fix for 497K Fast-Track wallets in its latest update.

Pi Network has rolled out new updates targeting long-running KYC and Mainnet migration issues, potentially allowing hundreds of thousands of Pioneers to move forward with the network’s verification and migration processes.

According to an update shared by Pi-focused X account @PiPioneersX, more than 417,000 Pioneers can now proceed with KYC, while another 497,000 users affected by a migration issue are expected to receive a technical fix. The update also points to additional improvements being introduced to Pi Network’s KYC system.

The figures represent a combined group of more than 900,000 users affected by different verification or migration-related issues. Pi Network has been addressing these cases through separate technical solutions rather than relying on a single change across the entire system.

More Than 417,000 Pioneers Can Move Forward With KYC

One of the latest changes concerns more than 417,000 Pioneers whose KYC progress had been restricted by duplicate-account flags.

Recent reporting on the update indicates that Pi Network reviewed the affected cases and determined that these users were not duplicate accounts, allowing them to continue with the required KYC process. The clearance does not automatically mean that every affected Pioneer has completed KYC, as individual accounts may still need to satisfy additional verification requirements.

The change is significant for users who had already submitted identity information but remained unable to progress because of account-level restrictions.

Pi Network has also continued working on other KYC cases involving technical problems, including situations in which earlier verification processes did not capture sufficient liveness information.

Pi Network Targets 497,000 Fast-Track Wallets

The second major part of the update involves approximately 497,000 Fast-Track wallets affected by a Mainnet migration problem.

According to reporting on Pi Network’s latest technical changes, some Fast-Track wallets encountered problems claiming migrated balances because of insufficient Pi needed for transaction gas fees. A planned update is intended to address the issue and allow affected eligible users to continue the migration process.

The distinction between KYC approval and Mainnet migration remains important. Completing KYC does not necessarily mean that a Pioneer immediately receives a migrated balance. Migration involves additional technical and wallet-related steps, meaning different users can remain at different stages even after their identity verification has been completed.

Pi Network has been processing migration cases in batches, with technical changes designed to address specific groups of users rather than applying one solution to every outstanding case.

Additional KYC Improvements Are Rolling Out

The latest changes also extend beyond the 417,000 users whose duplicate-account restrictions were cleared.

Pi Network has expanded liveness-check support for older and lower-specification mobile devices. The adjustments are designed to reduce verification failures associated with video processing and face-position requirements. Affected users from earlier verification processes may also receive opportunities to resubmit their KYC applications when markets technical information required for verification was incomplete.

Another change under testing involves palm-print authentication. The system is being trialed with selected Pioneers who have encountered repeated liveness-check difficulties. The trial is intended to provide an additional method of verifying that an account is associated with a real person.

The network has also introduced additional options for certain users whose previous identity documents no longer meet current verification requirements.

These changes show that Pi Network’s KYC process is being handled through multiple technical and account-specific pathways. Not every Pioneer experiencing a delay will necessarily be affected by the same solution.
