BNB Chain Overtakes Solana as RWA Growth Reaches $3.6 Billion
BNB Chain emerged as the fastest-growing major blockchain for tokenized real-world assets during the opening months of 2026, adding $3.6 billion in RWA value and moving ahead of Solana, according to CryptoRank data cited by BNB Chain.
The increase places BNB Chain at the top of the measured networks for RWA growth as blockchain infrastructure becomes increasingly connected to traditional financial assets. According to CryptoRank data, Tokenization allows assets to be represented as transferable digital units that can be recorded and settled on blockchain networks.
BNB Chain’s performance indicates that issuers are increasingly using its infrastructure for asset creation, distribution and settlement. Its relatively low transaction costs and large user base may provide practical advantages for projects targeting both institutional and individual investors.
BNB Chain Leads RWA Growth as Solana Adds $2.6 Billion
Solana ranked second during the period, recording a $2.6 billion increase in RWA value. The figure places it $1 billion behind BNB Chain, although it underscores continued demand for tokenized assets on high-throughput blockchain networks.
Stellar ranked third after adding $2.5 billion, only $100 million below Solana. The network has an established presence in asset issuance, cross-border payments and financial applications aimed at institutional users.
The results show that RWA growth is spreading across several blockchain ecosystems rather than being concentrated on a single network. Differences in transaction costs, throughput, liquidity and infrastructure can influence where issuers choose to deploy tokenized assets.
Ethereum Remains the Largest RWA Market Despite Slower Growth
Ethereum ranked fourth for growth during the measured period, adding $1.6 billion in RWA value.
While that increase was below the gains recorded by BNB Chain, Solana and Stellar, the ranking does not represent the total amount of RWA value held on each blockchain. It measures additions during the period rather than each network’s complete historical position in the market.
Ethereum continues to benefit from deep liquidity, a large developer ecosystem and infrastructure already used by numerous tokenized-asset providers. Its fourth-place ranking by new RWA value therefore does not indicate that it has lost its broader position in the sector.
Global RWA Value Expands by About $39 Billion
The growth extends beyond the four leading networks. Across blockchain networks, RWA value increased by more than 50% since the beginning of 2026, representing approximately $39 billion in additional assets.
The expansion points to broader adoption of blockchain infrastructure for representing traditional financial instruments. As the market grows, blockchain networks are competing to provide infrastructure capable of supporting issuers, investors and financial institutions.
That competition could encourage networks to improve compliance infrastructure, interoperability and tools designed for institutional asset issuers.
BNB Chain’s $3.6 billion increase gives it a clear lead in RWA growth over the measured period. Its performance also highlights changing preferences among issuers evaluating factors such as transaction costs, liquidity, accessibility and settlement efficiency.
At the same time, the relatively narrow gap between Solana and Stellar shows how closely several networks are competing for a share of the expanding tokenized-asset market.
