BitMine Adds 27,180 ETH as Ethereum Holdings Reach 5.96 Million ETH
BitMine has added 27,180 ETH to its holdings over the past week, taking its total Ethereum position to 5.96 million ETH as of September 13, according The company’s holdings now represent about 4.9% of Ethereum’s 122 million ETH supply, leaving BitMine 98% of the way toward its stated goal of owning 5% of all ETH.
The latest acquisition WuBlockchain reinforces BitMine’s position as a significant corporate holder of Ethereum and highlights the growing scale of institutional treasury strategies centered on digital assets. The company’s approach combines direct accumulation with staking, giving its Ethereum position an active role within the network.
BitMine Stakes 5.07 Million ETH
Of BitMine’s 5.96 million ETH holdings, about 5.07 million ETH has been staked, representing roughly 85% of its total position. The allocation means most of the company’s Ethereum holdings are currently being deployed through staking rather than remaining entirely idle.
BitMine’s accumulation is also significant relative to Ethereum’s overall supply. Holding approximately 4.9% of the 122 million ETH supply places the company close to its stated 5% target, although the figures do not indicate that the company has reached that threshold.
Large corporate positions such as BitMine’s can become increasingly important to the digital-asset market because treasury decisions can influence the distribution of available supply. At the same time, the concentration of holdings makes the management of staking, liquidity and investment exposure important components of the company’s strategy.
BitMine Reports $15.8 Billion in Assets
BitMine said its combined crypto holdings, cash, marketable securities and other investments were valued at $15.8 billion.
The figure provides broader context for the scale of the company’s Ethereum strategy, which extends beyond a single cryptocurrency allocation. With 5.07 million ETH already staked, the company’s next major milestone is closely tied to its 5% ownership objective.
The remaining question is whether BitMine will complete the final portion of its accumulation strategy and reach its stated target while maintaining its current approach to staking and treasury management.
