Pump.fun Expands Hiring With Six-Figure Business Development Roles for Prediction Markets and Trading Products
Pump.fun is expanding its business development team as the Solana-based platform looks to broaden its product offering beyond memecoin creation and trading. Co-founder Alon Cohen announced on X that the company is recruiting for three roles focused on perpetual futures, prediction markets and its trading terminal.
The inclusion of prediction markets marks the first public indication that the category is becoming a strategic focus for Pump.fun. The recruitment effort is being handled by Baton Corporation, the development company behind the platform.
Pump.fun Targets Three Business Development Areas
Each opening is assigned to a different product line. One position will focus on perpetual futures, derivatives that allow traders to take leveraged positions on asset prices without a fixed expiration date.
Another role will concentrate on prediction markets, where users trade based on the outcomes of real-world events. The third position will support business development for Pump.fun's trading terminal.
Candidates are expected to have at least two years of experience leading business development at crypto companies or related platforms. New York is the preferred location, although remote applicants may be considered if they have exceptional qualifications.
Compensation for the three positions reportedly ranges from $200,000 to $1 million, with the possibility of additional performance-based bonuses.
High Compensation Continues Pump.fun's Hiring Pattern
The latest recruitment campaign follows another high-paying vacancy announced earlier in 2026. Pump.fun previously sought a Growth Marketing Lead for a position carrying a stated compensation range of $400,000 to $1 million.
The new business development roles also align with Baton Corporation's broader efforts to develop social features and attract high-volume traders and influencers to the platform.
From Solana Memecoins to a Broader Trading Platform
Pump.fun launched on January 19, 2024, and quickly established itself as a prominent platform for creating and trading tokens on Solana. Its original model allowed users to launch tokens within minutes and begin trading them, helping it become a major part of the network's memecoin activity.
The latest hiring plans point toward a broader range of trading activities. Perpetual futures are designed for traders seeking leveraged exposure to price movements, while prediction markets focus on trading around real-world event outcomes. The trading terminal serves users looking for faster execution and additional trading tools.
What the Expansion Could Mean for Pump.fun Users
Bringing several trading products into one platform could give users more options within an ecosystem they already know. However, the combination of leveraged derivatives and highly speculative memecoins also introduces risks that traders need to consider.
Leverage can magnify losses as well as gains, making perpetual futures particularly risky for users who do not fully understand how these products work.
Prediction markets represent the most notable strategic development in the announcement. Their inclusion in the recruitment plan is the first time Pump.fun has publicly identified the category as an area of focus, although the announcement does not provide a launch timeline or further product details.
