Elon Musk’s CZ Meme Post Sends Green Morning (GM) Memecoin Up More Than 500%
Green Morning (GM), a memecoin associated with a selfie shared by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, surged more than 500% after Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a meme featuring CZ on X. The token was trading at around $0.005 following the sharp move, according to CoinMarketCap data cited in the report.
The price increase followed an exchange between Musk and Dogecoin co-founder Shibetoshi Nakamoto on the social media platform. Musk responded to Nakamoto’s post with an image featuring CZ, drawing renewed attention to the GM memecoin.
How Elon Musk’s Post Brought Attention to GM
Nakamoto had posted a message from Japan, writing: “Good morning everyone from Japan! I just woke up, let’s check out the market situation!” Musk replied to the post using an image of Binance founder CZ.
The meme is believed to be a red-toned version of a green-toned selfie CZ shared in September. That earlier image is associated with the Green Morning memecoin, giving Musk’s post a connection to the token’s existing theme.
GM Memecoin Rallies More Than 500%
Following the social media exchange, Green Morning recorded a rapid price increase. CoinMarketCap data cited in the report showed the token gaining more than 500% in a short period and trading at approximately $0.005.
The episode highlights how posts from high-profile figures can draw sudden attention to smaller cryptocurrency tokens. However, the reported price movement alone does not establish how long the rally will last.
