BitMine Adds 8,573 ETH, Expanding Ethereum Holdings to 6.06 Million ETH
BitMine has acquired an additional 8,573 Ethereum (ETH) over the past week, increasing its total holdings to 6,060,506 ETH, equivalent to approximately 4.9% of Ethereum's total supply. The latest purchase further expands the company's substantial exposure to the world's second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
According to information reported by Wu Blockchain, BitMine disclosed the latest acquisition alongside details of its cryptocurrency holdings, staking position and overall financial assets. The company now holds more than 6.06 million ETH, representing a significant portion of the cryptocurrency's circulating supply.
BitMine Reports More Than 5.2 Million ETH Staked
Beyond its total Ethereum holdings, BitMine reported that 5,227,037 ETH are currently staked. This means that a substantial portion of the company's Ethereum position has been committed to the network's staking mechanism.
The difference between its total holdings and staked ETH reflects the portion of its Ethereum position that is not included in the reported staking balance. Based on the disclosed figures, approximately 833,469 ETH remain outside that staking total.
The staking figure is an important component of BitMine's reported Ethereum position, as it provides additional information about how the company manages its cryptocurrency holdings. However, the disclosed figures do not specify the staking arrangements, associated returns or any changes in the company's staking strategy.
BitMine's Total Assets Reach Approximately $14.5 Billion
BitMine also reported that the combined value of its cryptocurrency holdings, cash, marketable securities and other investments stands at approximately $14.5 billion.
Of that amount, $498 million is held in cash and marketable securities. The remaining value is represented by its broader investment portfolio, including its substantial Ethereum position and other investments.
The figures provide a snapshot of the company's overall financial position beyond its Ethereum holdings alone. Its reported $14.5 billion in combined assets also places the latest ETH acquisition within the context of a broader investment portfolio rather than an isolated cryptocurrency purchase.
BitMine's latest disclosure includes several key figures: an additional 8,573 ETH acquired over the past week, total holdings of 6,060,506 ETH, approximately 4.9% of Ethereum's supply represented by those holdings, and 5,227,037 ETH committed to staking.
The company also reported approximately $14.5 billion in combined crypto, cash, marketable securities and other investments, including $498 million in cash and marketable securities.
