Zcash Whale Buys 3.69 Million MASK Tokens as Concentrated Ownership Raises Liquidity Concerns
A cryptocurrency investor holding more than $15 million in assets has accumulated 3.69 million Nullmask (MASK) tokens worth approximately $151,000 over three days, drawing attention to the Solana-based project's concentrated token ownership and limited market liquidity.
The investor is associated with a wallet holding 10,241 Zcash (ZEC), valued at $11.69 million. The purchases add to the wallet's exposure to Nullmask, a privacy-focused protocol that uses zero-knowledge technology to support private cryptocurrency transfers and swaps.
Despite the recent accumulation, questions remain about MASK's ownership distribution, treasury management and available liquidity. Data from Arkham, Rug.Tools and DeFiLlama indicate that a substantial portion of the token supply is concentrated among a small number of addresses, while reported protocol deposits remain relatively low compared with the token's market capitalization.
Nullmask Token Supply Concentrated Among Major Wallets
Arkham data shows that Nullmask's largest wallet holds approximately 384.28 million MASK tokens, representing 39.36% of the total supply. The holdings have an estimated value approaching $16 million, while the six largest addresses collectively control more than half of the supply.
Separate figures from Rug.Tools showed that the ten largest addresses held approximately 56.12% of MASK as of October 18. However, DeFiLlama data suggests the largest address belongs to Nullmask's protocol treasury rather than an independent investor, an important distinction when assessing the concentration of token ownership.
Even with that distinction, the distribution raises questions about how treasury holdings are managed, whether restrictions apply to the tokens and how potential future distributions could affect the market. Large holdings do not necessarily indicate that tokens are available for immediate sale, but changes in the movement or distribution of those holdings could influence liquidity.
MASK Liquidity and Protocol Deposits Remain Limited
Rug.Tools recorded approximately $1.22 million in liquidity for MASK, compared with a market capitalization of $23.64 million. This difference highlights the importance of distinguishing a token's market valuation from the capital available to facilitate trading.
Nullmask also applies a 3% transfer fee, adding to the costs faced by market participants when moving tokens. Meanwhile, DeFiLlama data placed the protocol's total value locked (TVL) at approximately $58,000, considerably below MASK's reported market capitalization.
Nullmask uses zero-knowledge technology to facilitate private cryptocurrency transfers and swaps. The project also offers ZEC-related rewards for holders and has announced plans for token buybacks to support its ecosystem. The available figures, however, do not establish how those plans may affect future liquidity or token distribution.
Zcash Price Indicators Point to Weakening Momentum
Zcash was trading at $1,137.89 on the daily chart, down 1.12%. TradingView data placed its 20-day Bollinger Band average at $1,232.45, leaving the cryptocurrency below the indicator's central line.
The upper Bollinger Band stood at $1,396.30, while the lower boundary indicated potential support around $1,068.60. These levels provide technical reference points for traders assessing possible price movements, although they do not guarantee that support or resistance will hold.

Recent price candles also showed limited recovery strength. While the investor's MASK purchases highlight increased exposure to Nullmask, the token's concentrated ownership and limited reported liquidity remain relevant market considerations. Separately, Zcash's technical indicators suggest weakening momentum as traders monitor the cryptocurrency's position relative to its Bollinger Band levels.
