Trump Accounts Disclosed Boeing Purchase on Same Day as $880 Million Navy Contract
President Donald Trump’s financial disclosures show a Boeing stock purchase valued between $250,001 and $500,000 on June 18, 2026, the same day the U.S. Navy awarded Boeing an $880 million contract for P-8A Poseidon aircrew and maintenance training systems.
The transaction was highlighted by Coin Bureau in a post on X. The disclosure, published through the White House, identifies Boeing Co. shares as a purchase dated June 18 and places the transaction within the $250,001–$500,000 reporting range.
The disclosure does not establish that the purchase was made because of the Navy contract, nor does it provide an exact transaction value. Federal financial disclosures report qualifying transactions in dollar ranges rather than the precise amount paid.
Boeing Received $880 Million Navy Contract
The Navy contract was awarded to Boeing on June 18 for the procurement, modernization and sustainment of P-8A Poseidon aircrew and maintenance training systems.
The $880 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract covers the development, markets integration, testing, delivery and installation of new training devices, as well as upgrades to existing trainers. It also includes associated hardware, software, spare parts and support services.
The contract has an ordering period that can extend to 10 years, with the initial contract vehicle valued at $880 million and options that can bring the potential total value to $2.2 billion. The Navy said no funds were obligated at the time of the award, with funding to be provided through individual orders.
The award was made on a sole-source basis. The procurement covers P-8A training requirements for U.S. Navy operations as well as Foreign Military Sales customers.
Trump Organization Says Investments Are Independently Managed
The Trump Organization has previously said Trump’s investment holdings are maintained through fully discretionary accounts managed by independent third-party financial institutions.
According to the organization’s stated position, those institutions have sole and exclusive authority over investment decisions, including trading and portfolio management. It has also said that neither Trump, his family nor the Trump Organization selects, directs or approves individual investments and that the investment process is handled through automated systems.
That explanation is relevant to the Boeing transaction because the financial disclosure identifies the account associated with Trump but does not, by itself, establish who initiated or authorized the purchase.
The timing of the two events is documented: the Boeing purchase is dated June 18, while the Navy’s award of the $880 million contract was also made on June 18. Public records showing the same date do not establish a causal connection between the stock transaction and the government contract.
The Boeing contract is expected to support P-8A training requirements through work that is scheduled to continue through June 2031.
