Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev Sells $42.6 Million in HOOD Shares, Direct Holdings Hit Zero

Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev sold $42.6 million in HOOD shares, reducing his direct Class A holdings to zero while retaining other exposure.

Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev sells 375,000 Class A HOOD shares in a $42.6 million transaction

Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev sold 375,000 Class A shares of Robinhood Markets for $42.6 million, bringing his direct Class A holdings in the company to zero, according to information cited by Coin Bureau from regulatory filings.

Tenev Completes HOOD Selling Spree

The latest transaction was carried out under Tenev's Rule 10b5-1 trading plan. The sale marks the latest major reduction in his direct exposure to Robinhood's Class A stock and concludes a period of significant selling in the shares.

According to Coin Bureau, Tenev sold $62.7 million worth of HOOD shares in September, based on regulatory filings. The September sales preceded the latest transaction and brought the total value of the reported selling activity to a substantial level.

Class A Holdings Fall to Zero

Following the sale of 375,000 Class A shares, Tenev markets no longer directly holds any Class A Robinhood shares. The change applies specifically to his direct Class A holdings and does not represent the elimination of his entire exposure to Robinhood.

Tenev continues to hold Class B exposure in the company. He also retains 6,907 Class A shares indirectly through his living trust, meaning his overall economic exposure to Robinhood has not fallen to zero.

The transactions were conducted under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan, a predetermined arrangement that allows insiders to schedule stock sales in accordance with specified trading instructions. The reported filings provide the basis for the $42.6 million value of the latest sale and the $62.7 million in sales reported for September.

Coin Bureau identified the latest transaction as the financial conclusion of Tenev's reported selling spree, while his remaining Class B exposure and 6,907 indirectly held Class A shares leave him with continued ownership in Robinhood.
