Ondo Finance to Launch Tokenized Exposure to Pre-IPO AI Company

Ondo Finance plans tokenized exposure to an unnamed pre-IPO AI company, expanding beyond its $1 billion tokenized stock platform.

Ondo Finance tokenized exposure to an unnamed pre-IPO AI company through self-custody wallets

Ondo Finance is expanding its tokenized asset offering beyond its $1 billion tokenized stock platform with plans to launch onchain exposure to an unnamed pre-IPO artificial intelligence company, according to Coin Bureau.

Tokenized Pre-IPO AI Exposure

The planned offering would give eligible investors access to tokenized exposure to the private AI company through self-custody wallets. The structure is designed to provide 24/7 access to the investment exposure, extending Ondo Finance's reach into private-market assets that are not yet publicly traded.

Coin Bureau reported that the tokens will not represent direct ownership of the underlying company. Instead, payouts will be linked to the value realized per common share when a qualifying liquidity event occurs. An initial public offering, or IPO, is among the events that could trigger such a liquidity event.

Ondo Expands Beyond Tokenized Stocks

The move represents an expansion of Ondo Finance's tokenization strategy beyond its existing $1 billion tokenized stock platform. Rather than providing investors with direct equity ownership, the new structure is tied to the value realized from common shares at a qualifying liquidity event.

The offering also reflects the broader range of assets Ondo Finance says it intends to bring onchain. According to Coin Bureau, artificial intelligence is only the starting point, with robotics, cybersecurity, biotechnology and infrastructure identified as the next areas for expansion.

By using self-custody wallets, the planned product would allow eligible investors to maintain access to their tokenized exposure around the clock. However, the tokens themselves would not constitute direct ownership of the unnamed pre-IPO AI company, with their payouts instead connected to the value realized per common share at a qualifying liquidity event.

Coin Bureau identified AI as the first area in this expansion, followed by planned focus areas including robotics, cybersecurity, biotech and infrastructure.
