Ether Price Falls 13% in 30 Days as Ethereum ETF Outflows Reach $1.08 Billion in October
Ether has significantly underperformed Bitcoin over the past month, falling 12.96% as of late October 24, 2026, while Bitcoin declined 4.71% over the same period. The weakness in ETH comes alongside substantial withdrawals from U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds, with October outflows reaching $1.08 billion by October 21, according to figures cited by Cryptopolitan.
CoinGecko data showed Ether trading at $2,342.08 late on October 24 after briefly dropping below $2,300. Its lowest price during the 30-day period was $2,286.76. Bitcoin, meanwhile, traded at $80,537, extending a comparatively smaller decline from approximately $84,249 at the beginning of the period.
Ether Underperforms Bitcoin Across Multiple Time Frames
The difference in performance also appeared over the shorter term. During the seven days leading up to the reported figures, Ether fell 3.33%, compared with a 1.48% decline for Bitcoin. On October 24, ETH slipped approximately 0.7%, while BTC lost around 0.1%.
The ETH/BTC ratio, which measures the price of Ether relative to Bitcoin, stood near 0.0291, down from approximately 0.0319 at the start of the 30-day window. The decline indicates that Ether lost ground against Bitcoin during the period.
Ether reached a high of approximately $2,754 on October 2 before retreating. By late October 24, it had fallen around 15% from that level and was approximately 53% below its record high of $4,946.05, set in August 2025.
Bitcoin was also trading below its historical peak. At $80,537, the leading cryptocurrency was approximately 36% under its record high of $126,080, reached in October 2025. Ether's market capitalization stood at approximately $286 billion late on October 24.
U.S. Spot Ethereum ETFs Record $110.6 Million in Outflows
Institutional investment flows added to the pressure surrounding Ether. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $110.6 million in net outflows on October 22, according to data from Farside Investors.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accounted for $75.5 million of the withdrawals. BlackRock's ETHB recorded another $17.2 million in outflows, while Grayscale's ETHE lost $9.6 million. Grayscale's Ethereum Staking Mini ETF registered $10.7 million in outflows.
Fidelity's Ethereum Fund (FETH) was among the few products recording positive flows that day, attracting $2.4 million. However, its inflows were insufficient to offset withdrawals from the other funds.
The October 22 outflows followed $14.9 million in net inflows on October 21. During that session, Grayscale's staking mini fund attracted $28.1 million and FETH received $13 million, while ETHA recorded $29.3 million in outflows.
October Withdrawals Erase Earlier Ethereum ETF Inflows
The October 22 figures came after a sustained period of withdrawals. Five consecutive sessions of outflows from October 14 through October 20 removed $388.9 million from U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs. Across the seven sessions through October 22, cumulative outflows reached $484.6 million.
October 14 recorded the largest daily withdrawal in that run, at $129.5 million. Another $103.3 million flowed out on October 19.
The October 23 figures showed $4.4 million in net inflows, although the reported total was still missing the ETHV fund's figure. The available data therefore did not provide a complete final tally for that day.
Cryptopolitan reported that Ethereum ETFs had experienced $1.08 billion in outflows by October 21, making October the largest month for net withdrawals from these funds in 2026 at that point. The withdrawals had erased approximately $832 million in inflows recorded in September, leaving year-to-date net inflows at around $485 million.
October was also the worst month for the funds since November 2025. Total net assets stood at $14.98 billion as of October 20, equivalent to 5.01% of Ether's market value.
Bitcoin ETFs See Smaller Outflows
Bitcoin investment products experienced considerably smaller withdrawals over the same October period. Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $67 million in outflows, while maintaining around $809 million in net inflows for 2026.
Ethereum funds had also experienced a separate six-session outflow streak beginning September 29, during which approximately $408 million left the products. BlackRock's ETHA alone recorded $201.89 million in outflows on October 6.
The figures highlight the difference between flows into Bitcoin and Ethereum investment products during October. While both assets traded below their respective record highs, Ethereum faced steeper recent price declines and substantially larger reported ETF withdrawals.
