Bitmine Ethereum Holdings Reach 6.05 Million ETH, Closing In on 5% of Supply
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has increased its Ethereum holdings to 6,051,933 ETH after purchasing an additional 10,452 ETH in the past week, bringing the company's reported reserves to approximately 4.95% of Ethereum's circulating supply.
The latest accumulation puts the cryptocurrency treasury company close to its stated target of holding 5% of the ETH supply. As of October 25, when Ethereum traded at $2,356, Bitmine valued its Ethereum reserves at approximately $14.3 billion.
Bitmine Ethereum Holdings Approach 5% of Supply
Bitmine's latest purchase reinforces its strategy of building a substantial Ethereum treasury. The company now holds more than 6 million ETH, with its reported position representing approximately 4.95% of circulating supply, according to the figures provided.
Reaching the 5% threshold would bring Bitmine closer to its stated accumulation objective. However, the reported percentage reflects the company's current holdings and Ethereum's circulating supply, which may change over time.
More Than 5.2 Million ETH Committed to Staking
Of Bitmine's total Ethereum reserves, 5,227,037 ETH is locked on its MAVAN platform and with various staking partners. That represents approximately 86% of its overall ETH holdings.
Bitmine estimates that its current staking position could generate approximately $318 million in annualized revenue. If the company were to stake its entire Ethereum reserve, the estimated annualized figure could increase to $368 million.
These projections are estimates rather than guaranteed earnings. Actual staking returns can fluctuate depending on the total amount of ETH staked across the network, validator performance, Ethereum's market price and potential penalties associated with staking.
Bitmine Reports $15 Billion in Combined Assets and Investments
Beyond its Ethereum holdings, Bitmine's balance sheet includes 215 BTC, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, a $76 million investment in Eightco Holdings, and $514 million in cash and securities.
The company puts the combined value of its cryptocurrency holdings, cash and other investments at approximately $15 billion. The reported figure reflects a broader portfolio that extends beyond its primary Ethereum treasury strategy.
Share Buybacks Add to Bitmine's Capital Strategy
Bitmine also repurchased 2.04 million of its own shares during the past week at an average price of $22.48 per share. Since the beginning of the year, the company has bought back 22.9 million shares, spending a total of $399.6 million.
CEO Tom Lee reiterated his assessment that the cryptocurrency bull market remains underway. His comments reflect the executive's market outlook and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that Ethereum or other digital assets will continue to rise in price.
Bitmine's growing ETH position, staking activity and share repurchases highlight the company's approach to managing its cryptocurrency treasury and capital. The financial impact of that strategy will depend in part on future market conditions and the returns generated by its staked assets.
