Bitget cryptocurrency exchange announces a one-off service discontinuation for selected users and provides guidance on withdrawals and asset security.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget will discontinue services for certain users in a one-off exercise, with affected customers set to receive direct notifications explaining the next steps, withdrawal arrangements and applicable deadlines. The exchange said users' funds would remain safe during the process while its crypto trading platform continues to operate.

In a post on X on Saturday, Bitget clarified that the service changes would apply only to selected customers. Users who have not received an official notification from the exchange can continue using their accounts as usual.

Bitget to Notify Affected Users Directly

Bitget said affected customers would be contacted through email, in-app messages and/or push notifications. These communications will outline the steps users need to take, relevant deadlines and arrangements for withdrawing their assets.

The exchange also directed users to its asset verification guide, which explains how to check the safety of funds held on the platform. The guide is available at Bitget's asset verification resource.

Customers with questions about pending orders, withdrawals or other account-related matters can contact Bitget's customer support team throughout the process, the exchange said.

Bitget also warned users to rely exclusively on official communication channels and remain alert to phishing links, impersonation accounts and unverified information. The warning highlights the importance of verifying announcements directly with the exchange, particularly when account access and withdrawals are involved.

Service Changes Follow Earlier Security Incident Report

The announcement comes after a security incident involving Bitget was reported in September. Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 25 that the exchange had confirmed unauthorized transfers and temporarily suspended withdrawals while investigating a security breach.

A security company later estimated that approximately $388 million had been stolen in the incident. The reported figure relates to the earlier security breach; the information provided does not establish that the newly announced service discontinuation is connected to that incident.

Bitget's latest announcement focuses on the arrangements for affected users and the continued operation of its crypto platform. Customers who receive official notices are advised to follow the instructions and deadlines communicated by the exchange, while those who have not been notified can continue using their accounts as usual.
