Zcash Price Structure Remains Bullish but Technical Signals Point to Correction Risk
Zcash is maintaining a bullish technical structure above $1,100, but two indicators are raising the possibility of a deeper correction after the privacy-focused cryptocurrency's sharp recent advance.
ZEC climbed from roughly $800 toward $1,250, gaining nearly 50% as buying pressure accelerated. The token has since given back some of those gains and is trading near $1,124. According to TradingView chart data.
The rally has left Zcash significantly above several major moving averages while momentum has begun to weaken. That combination does not necessarily invalidate the broader uptrend, but it could increase the risk of profit-taking if buying demand loses strength.
Zcash Price Faces Bearish RSI Divergence
The first warning comes from the Relative Strength Index, or RSI. TradingView chart data places ZEC's RSI at around 74, a level generally associated with overbought conditions.
More importantly, momentum has not kept pace with the latest price advance.
Zcash previously reached approximately $880 during its August peak before breaking higher and moving above $1,200. During that earlier move, the RSI recorded a stronger reading than it has during the more recent price expansion.
That creates a bearish divergence, a technical pattern in which an asset records higher price peaks while the corresponding momentum indicator produces weaker highs.
Such a divergence can signal that upward momentum is losing strength even while the price continues to rise. It does not, by itself, establish that a reversal is underway, but it adds to the correction risk following ZEC's rapid appreciation.
Wide Moving Average Gaps Leave Fewer Nearby Support Levels
The second concern comes from the distance between ZEC's current price and its major moving averages.
The 20-day moving average is near $847, roughly 33% below the cryptocurrency's prevailing price. The 50-day moving average is around $650, while longer-term averages are positioned near $614 and $512.

If selling pressure intensifies, ZEC could therefore experience a faster pullback before reaching areas where stronger historical demand may emerge.
The first significant support region is between $1,040 and $1,080. This area corresponds with Zcash's latest breakout zone and represents the nearest level that could determine whether the cryptocurrency can consolidate while preserving its broader bullish structure.
$1,040 Level Becomes Important for the Next Move
A sustained hold above the $1,040-$1,080 region could allow ZEC to stabilize after its recent advance. From there, the cryptocurrency could attempt another move toward $1,200 and $1,250.
The technical picture would become more vulnerable if Zcash falls below $1,040.
A break of that level could shift attention toward the $950 area, which represents an important psychological price level. Further weakness below $950 would expose the previous consolidation range between $800 and $850.
That lower zone carries additional technical significance because it is close to the rising 20-day moving average, potentially providing a more established area of support if the correction becomes deeper.
For now, the broader technical structure remains bullish, but the rally is showing signs that its momentum may be becoming less sustainable. The RSI divergence and large gap between the current price and moving averages suggest that ZEC may need to consolidate or retrace before establishing its next direction.
Holding $1,040 would keep the possibility of another attempt at higher resistance levels intact. A decisive breakdown, however, could increase profit-taking pressure and push ZEC toward $950 and potentially the $800-$850 region.
