Strategy Stock Jumps 47.6% in a Month, Leading Nasdaq-100 Constituents
Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTR), the bitcoin-focused company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has gained approximately 47.6% over the past month, according to data shared by Wu Blockchain, making it the strongest-performing Nasdaq-100 constituent over that period.
The performance puts Strategy ahead of several other major Nasdaq-100 companies, including Meta Platforms, AMD and CrowdStrike, based on the one-month comparison cited in the post. Independent market data also shows MSTR up 47.65% over the month through Sept. 18, 2026.
Strategy Shares Extend Recent Gains
Strategy's recent advance has included several large daily moves. The stock closed at $153.92 on Sept. 18, after rising 16.39% during that session, according to historical markets data. The shares had closed at $132.25 a day earlier, following a 4.81% gain.
The move followed a volatile stretch in which MSTR also recorded declines. Shares fell 5.36% on Sept. 15 and another 2.64% on Sept. 16 before rebounding over the following two sessions.
The one-month gain has therefore come amid substantial day-to-day price fluctuations rather than a uniformly rising trading pattern.
Bitcoin Exposure Remains Central to Strategy
Strategy's stock performance is closely associated with its bitcoin treasury strategy. In a Sept. 14 regulatory filing, the company reported holding approximately 845,050 bitcoin as of Sept. 13, with an aggregate purchase price of about $63.73 billion and an average acquisition price of approximately $75,412 per bitcoin, including fees.
The company's substantial bitcoin holdings have made Strategy one of the most prominent publicly traded companies with direct exposure to the cryptocurrency.
That exposure also distinguishes MSTR from most traditional Nasdaq-100 technology companies. Changes in bitcoin prices can therefore be an important factor in the market's assessment of Strategy, although the company's stock can also move because of factors specific to its capital structure, financing and corporate operations.
A Strong Month Despite Broader Market Volatility
Strategy's gain comes during a period of uneven performance across U.S. equities.
The Nasdaq and other major U.S. indexes have faced pressure from higher Treasury yields, elevated oil prices and concerns surrounding inflation and monetary policy. Reuters reported that the Nasdaq nevertheless finished the week ended Sept. 18 higher, helped by gains in semiconductor stocks.
Cryptocurrency-linked equities have also been active during the period. The Wall Street Journal reported that Strategy and Coinbase fell on Sept. 16 following the U.S. Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act, while both companies later participated in a broader rebound among cryptocurrency-related stocks as bitcoin moved above $78,000.
MSTR Still Below Its Level From a Year Ago
Despite the sharp one-month advance, Strategy's longer-term performance remains more mixed.
Market data shows the stock was down roughly 55% over the previous 12 months through Sept. 18. Its year-to-date performance was approximately 1.3% according to MarketBeat's historical data.
The contrast underscores the difference between a short-term performance ranking and a longer investment horizon. Strategy's recent 47.6% monthly gain represents a significant move, but it comes after substantial volatility over the preceding year.
For now, the latest data places Strategy at the top of the one-month Nasdaq-100 performance comparison cited by Coin Bureau, with MSTR closing at $153.92 on Sept. 18.
