Shiba Inu Exchange Reserves Near 87 Trillion SHIB as Selling Pressure Builds
Shiba Inu exchange reserves are approaching 87 trillion SHIB, with the latest on-chain data showing nearly 86.9973 trillion tokens held in exchange-linked wallets. The increase has raised concerns about potential selling pressure as the reserve level moves closer to the 87 trillion SHIB threshold.
According to the latest data, approximately 2.7 billion SHIB would be needed for exchange reserves to exceed 87 trillion tokens. Reserves increased by 0.04% over the latest 24-hour period, keeping the market close to that milestone.
Exchange reserves measure the amount of an asset held in wallets associated with cryptocurrency exchanges. Rising balances can indicate a larger readily tradable supply, while declining reserves can reflect transfers to private wallets and longer-term custody.
Recent flow data showed that SHIB inflows reached 271.53 billion tokens, compared with 222.25 billion SHIB in outflows. This left netflow positive at approximately 34.47 billion SHIB, indicating that deposits continued to exceed withdrawals.
SHIB Withdrawals Remain Too Weak to Reduce Exchange Reserves
Withdrawal activity has not yet provided enough evidence of a significant reduction in exchange-held SHIB.
The seven-day moving average for mean exchange outflows fell 40.62% to approximately 502.1 million SHIB. At the same time, total outflows increased 0.5%, while ordinary mean outflows rose by 0.51%.
The mixed movement suggests that withdrawals remain active but have not gained sufficient strength to offset the broader increase in exchange balances. As a result, the amount of SHIB available on exchanges remains elevated.
The approaching 87 trillion SHIB milestone also comes as the token attempts to maintain an important technical support area.
SHIB Tests Key Technical Support
Shiba Inu was trading near $0.00000518 after recovering from the $0.000005 region.
The current price remains above the short-term average of $0.00000501 and the 100-day exponential moving average at $0.00000498. These levels indicate that buyers have so far maintained immediate support, although SHIB has yet to establish strong upward momentum above nearby resistance.

The relative strength index stands near 54, pointing to broadly neutral conditions with a modest bullish bias.
Further above the current price, the 200-day exponential moving average at $0.00000570 remains the most significant technical barrier identified in the data. SHIB previously moved above that level but faced rejection, allowing sellers to push the token back below the resistance area.
Exchange Reserves Remain a Key Factor for SHIB
A move above 87 trillion SHIB would primarily represent a psychological milestone, but continued growth in exchange reserves could increase concerns about potential selling pressure.
Conversely, stronger withdrawals or a reduction in new deposits could ease the pressure on exchange balances and provide additional support for SHIB as the token trades around its current technical levels.
