CME Group Plans Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures Launch for October 19

CME Group plans BCH and UNI futures for October 19, pending regulatory review, with standard and micro contracts for both cryptocurrencies.

CME Group plans to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19, expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives offering pending regulatory review.

According to Wu Blockchain, both contracts are designed to provide market participants with additional instruments for managing cryptocurrency price exposure. CME Group will offer standard and micro contracts for each asset, giving traders different contract sizes.

CME to Add BCH and UNI Futures

The planned Bitcoin Cash futures will come in standard contracts representing 250 BCH and micro contracts representing 25 BCH. For Uniswap, CME Group plans to offer standard contracts covering 10,000 UNI and micro contracts covering 1,000 UNI.

The launch remains subject to regulatory review, meaning the October 19 date is contingent on the required approval process. CME Group did not indicate in the information shared by Wu Blockchain whether the launch schedule could change following that review.

The planned products would add BCH and UNI to CME's existing single-asset cryptocurrency futures lineup, which currently includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), Stellar (XLM), Avalanche (AVAX), and Sui (SUI).

CME's Crypto Derivatives Activity

CME Group's expansion comes as its cryptocurrency derivatives business continues to record substantial trading activity. During the first half of 2026, the exchange's cryptocurrency futures and options recorded an average daily trading volume of 279,800 contracts.

That activity represented approximately $8.3 billion in average daily notional value, according to the information published by Wu Blockchain.

The addition of BCH and UNI would therefore extend an already broad range of single-asset cryptocurrency futures available through CME Group. The products are structured in both standard and micro formats, allowing exposure to the same underlying assets through different contract sizes.

October 19 Launch Remains Subject to Review

CME Group's stated objective for the expansion is to meet institutional demand for cryptocurrency risk-management tools. Futures can be used by market participants to manage price exposure without directly holding the underlying asset.

For Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap, the next key step is the regulatory review. CME Group has identified October 19 as the planned launch date, but the products will proceed on that timetable only if the applicable regulatory requirements are satisfied.
