Binance to Suspend Deposits and Withdrawals on September 22
Binance will temporarily suspend cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals on September 22 as the exchange carries out a scheduled upgrade to its wallet infrastructure.
The maintenance is scheduled to begin at 06:00 UTC and is expected to last about one hour, according to Binance. Trading will remain available during the upgrade, allowing users to manage existing positions while fund transfers are temporarily restricted.
Deposits and withdrawals will resume after Binance determines that the upgraded wallet system is operating reliably and securely. The exchange said it will not issue a separate announcement when services are restored, meaning users requiring time-sensitive transfers will need to monitor availability directly.
Binance Wallet Maintenance Set for September 22
The planned Binance wallet maintenance affects the movement of funds rather than spot trading activity.
During the scheduled window, customers will still be able to trade on the platform. However, cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals will remain unavailable until the wallet infrastructure upgrade and subsequent operational checks are complete.
Binance has not provided a specific restoration announcement time beyond its expectation that the maintenance will take about one hour. The actual reopening of transfers will therefore depend on the completion of the upgrade and stability checks.
The suspension is part of several scheduled platform changes taking place across Binance during September.
Binance Removes Selected Spot and Margin Pairs
Before the wallet maintenance, Binance is scheduled to remove four spot trading pairs at 03:00 UTC on September 18. The affected markets are BREV/USDC, COOKIE/USDC, LA/USDC and QNT/USDC.
Binance conducts periodic reviews of listed markets based on factors including liquidity, trading volume and overall market quality. Removing a trading pair does not mean the underlying cryptocurrency is being removed from the exchange.
Users will continue to be able to trade the affected assets through other supported Binance Spot markets where available.
Binance is also scheduled to remove several margin trading pairs at 06:00 UTC on September 18. The cross-margin pairs affected are ENJ/USDC, GENIUS/USDC, CVX/USDC, GUN/USDC and VANA/USDC.
GENIUS/USDC is additionally scheduled for removal from isolated margin trading.
Customers with open positions involving the affected margin markets should review the applicable deadlines and settle outstanding loans before the removals take effect.
Pax Dollar Spot Markets Face September 24 Removal
A separate Binance market adjustment is scheduled for September 24, when the exchange plans to cease all Pax Dollar spot markets at 03:00 UTC.
The Pax Dollar market changes are separate from the September 22 wallet upgrade. Together with the September 18 spot and margin removals, they create several scheduled changes for Binance users during the month.
For customers planning fund transfers, the key distinction is between the September 22 wallet restriction and the market removals occurring on September 18 and September 24.
Trading is expected to continue during the wallet upgrade, but deposits and withdrawals will remain unavailable until Binance completes the infrastructure work and confirms that the upgraded system meets its operational requirements.
