Bitwise Pushes Closer to XRP ETF Launch as Solana ETFs Gain Institutional Momentum

The crypto investment world is on alert again as Bitwise Asset Management edges closer to securing regulatory approval for its highly anticipated XRP Spot Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF). The move could reshape how investors gain exposure to digital assets — especially at a time when Solana ETFs are showing explosive growth in institutional inflows.

If the launch proceeds as expected, Bitwise’s XRP ETF could mark one of the most significant milestones for the altcoin market in 2025, joining the ranks of recently approved Ethereum and Solana spot ETFs.

Bitwise Takes the Final Regulatory Steps

According to filings submitted on November 1, 2025, Bitwise officially updated its XRP ETF proposal — marking Amendment #4 — which includes details on the designated exchange (NYSE) and a management fee of 0.34%.

Bloomberg’s senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas described this stage as one of the “final boxes to check” before a possible launch, noting that such amendments often indicate readiness pending SEC clearance.

Bitwise’s filing also introduces a new “auto-effective date” clause — an important regulatory mechanism that allows the ETF to go live within 20 days of approval, without additional delays. The removal of the “delaying amendment” effectively streamlines the process, signaling that Bitwise is positioning itself for a swift debut once the green light arrives.

Bloomberg Intelligence’s James Seyffart added that the simplified and concise language of the amendment could allow Bitwise to lead the race for the first XRP spot ETF in the United States.

Why XRP ETF Matters Now

The potential XRP ETF is not just another investment product — it could represent a turning point for Ripple’s native asset. Despite years of regulatory uncertainty following the SEC lawsuit against Ripple Labs, investor sentiment has shifted dramatically in recent months.

With the legal overhang largely cleared, and institutional appetite returning to alternative digital assets, an SEC-approved XRP ETF would signal a new era of regulatory acceptance. It would also validate XRP’s role as a cross-border payment asset — a function that Ripple has long advocated for in global banking systems.

In a note shared with ABC Finance, one institutional analyst explained:

“An XRP ETF would mark a structural change in how investors view blockchain assets. This is not a speculative token anymore — it’s an established digital infrastructure play.”

Institutional Confidence Grows

The excitement surrounding Bitwise’s XRP ETF filing coincides with rising institutional interest in XRP. According to reports, Armada Acquisition Corp. II recently announced a $1 billion institutional treasury strategy anchored in XRP-related holdings, rebranding the token’s image from retail speculation to an emerging financial asset.

Meanwhile, Virtu Financial, one of the world’s largest market-making firms, disclosed holdings worth $63 million in XRP, reflecting renewed confidence in the token’s liquidity and long-term potential.

The broader market reaction also mirrors this sentiment. XRP’s price climbed 1.04% in the past 24 hours, bouncing from recent lows to trade around $2.60. Technical analysts note a strong support zone at $2.50, while upside targets around $2.73 could be achievable if institutional inflows sustain their pace.

Solana ETF Inflows Reflect Altcoin Shift

While the XRP ETF remains under regulatory watch, Solana’s ETF ecosystem is already demonstrating the kind of institutional momentum that may soon carry over to XRP.

According to SoSoValue data as of October 31, 2025, Bitwise’s Solana ETF (1BSOL) recorded $44.48 million in daily inflows, with $197 million in cumulative net inflows since launch. The fund’s total assets have surged to $408.8 million, surpassing Grayscale’s Solana Trust by more than fourfold.

These numbers illustrate a notable diversification trend among institutional investors. Once heavily concentrated in Bitcoin and Ethereum, portfolios are now expanding into other Layer-1 networks such as Solana — favored for its high transaction throughput and developer ecosystem.

“Solana has moved from being a speculative chain to a major institutional asset,” said crypto market strategist Lena Morrison. “Funds are repositioning ahead of the next cycle, and these inflows show that traditional investors want exposure to alternative blockchain economies.”

The Broader ETF Race

The momentum behind both Solana and XRP ETFs follows a transformative year for crypto markets. After years of rejections, U.S. regulators began approving a series of spot-based ETFs, starting with Bitcoin in early 2024 and Ethereum mid-year.

These approvals opened a floodgate of institutional participation, legitimizing crypto assets as part of mainstream finance. By late 2025, more than $50 billion in cumulative inflows have entered digital asset ETFs across the U.S. and Europe.

Bitwise, one of the pioneers in this field, has steadily expanded its ETF lineup. From Bitcoin to Solana and now XRP, the firm’s strategy is clear: to create a multi-asset ETF ecosystem that mirrors the diversity of the crypto economy itself.

The company’s CEO, Hunter Horsley, recently told Bloomberg that Bitwise’s mission is to “bridge traditional finance and the open blockchain economy.” He emphasized that accessibility, transparency, and liquidity are the three pillars driving their ETF approach.

Regulatory Outlook and Market Implications

If the SEC approves Bitwise’s XRP ETF, analysts believe it could unlock billions in new capital inflows. The ETF would enable pension funds, hedge funds, and asset managers to gain regulated exposure to XRP without the custody or compliance challenges of holding the asset directly.

The broader implication could be significant for Ripple Labs, whose payment network already partners with banks and financial institutions across 50+ countries. An XRP ETF would enhance liquidity and likely accelerate adoption in institutional cross-border settlements.

However, not everyone is convinced the approval will come easily. Critics warn that the SEC remains cautious about altcoin-based ETFs, especially those linked to assets previously involved in litigation. Still, recent trends show regulators becoming more flexible as they seek to balance investor protection with innovation.

XRP Price Prediction and Technical Setup

Market observers see the current XRP price range as a consolidation phase before a potential breakout. Short-term projections suggest that if the ETF approval goes through, XRP could test the $3.50 level, with medium-term targets approaching $5.00.

In contrast, a rejection or delay by the SEC might trigger short-term volatility, with possible retracements toward $2.20 before finding stability.

Overall, sentiment remains cautiously optimistic. “XRP’s ETF readiness is not just about speculation,” said independent analyst Daniel Patel. “It’s about institutional trust returning to crypto assets outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The groundwork is already laid.”

The Road Ahead

As 2025 closes, the competition among crypto ETFs is shaping the next phase of digital asset investment. Solana’s strong ETF inflows and Bitwise’s XRP filing both point to a broader narrative — one where institutions are moving beyond legacy crypto and embracing a multi-chain future.

Should the XRP ETF debut before year-end, it would symbolize not just another investment vehicle but also a major endorsement for blockchain adoption in regulated finance.

Bitwise’s persistence in refining its filings, combined with the explosive success of Solana’s ETF, reflects one undeniable truth: the next wave of crypto adoption is being led by institutional capital.

As the markets wait for the SEC’s next move, investors and analysts alike are watching closely — not just for XRP’s ETF approval, but for what it signifies: the integration of digital assets into the very heart of global finance.
