hokanews.com - The Pi Core Team has announced the launch of an exciting new program, Picubator, aimed at supporting community app developers in improving their applications. This 12-week program will accelerate the app improvement process and provide financial support to selected app teams.
In an email recently received by the Pi Network community, the Pi Core Team announced the launch of its latest program, Picubator. This program aims to assist community app development teams in enhancing their apps and supporting their progress. With a focus on app support and development, the Picubator program promises numerous benefits to selected app developers.
The Picubator Program: Supporting Community App Development
Picubator is a 12-week program designed to expedite the app improvement process and concentrate the efforts of app development teams on updating and enhancing their applications. The ultimate goal of the program is to have the participants' apps ready for selection in the Mainnet Ecosystem App after the 12-week period.
One of the program's primary requirements is that app teams must be prepared to dedicate at least 20 hours per week to app development. This reflects a high level of commitment to ensuring significant app improvement throughout the program.
Financial Support
During the Picubator program, selected app teams will receive financial support of $1500 USD every 4 weeks. This funding can be used for various expenses related to app development, including infrastructure costs, third-party developers, and other development-related expenses.
Selection Process
To participate in the program, app development teams must first submit an application and be chosen by the Pi Core Team. Applications must be completed by November 4th at 11:59 PM PDT. Afterward, the Pi Core Team will review the applications and make decisions on which teams will participate in the program in the following weeks.
Questions and Additional Information
The Pi Core Team has reminded the community not to disseminate information regarding the program at this time. If you have questions or require further information, you can respond to the received email.
Why is the Picubator Program Important?
Two hours ago, I received an email from
@PiCoreTeam
, and the following is the contents of the email👇
Hello Teams,
For the past few quarters the Pi Core Team has been testing and iterating on a strategy to help community developers improve their applications. This has included mentoring sessions, feedback on app design, monetary grants, and milestone based reward programs. Through these programs we’ve been able to test a number of strategies and tailor them to better fit the needs of developers.
Today we are launching a new program, The Picubator, that brings the concepts into one focused program to help Community App Teams improve their applications and support their progress. Prior to being accepted into the program all eligible teams must complete an application and be selected by the Core Team to join.
The Picubator, is a 12 week program that will accelerate the application improvement process and focus a team's efforts on updating and improving their applications. The ultimate goal of the program is to have participants apps ready for Mainnet Ecosystem App selection at the conclusion of the 12 weeks. Teams need to be prepared to put in at least 20 hours of development each week to meet the demands of the program. To go along with the program teams will get $1500 USD per 4 weeks to spend on eligible expenses including infrastructure costs, 3rd party developers, and other development related expenses.
Being on this email means that your app team has been selected to apply for the incubator program. The Picubator Application, LINKED HERE, should be completed by Thursday November 4th 11:59PM PDT. The Pi Core Team will review the applications and make decisions on teams who will participate over the following week. Should you not want to participate, do not complete an application. If you have multiple apps that your team is developing, complete the applications for all of the apps that you wish to be considered for selection into the program.
Should you have any questions, please respond to this email. We ask that you not release any information on this program yet.
Sincerely,
Christian & The Pi Core Team
